Eawag has been singled out for the Chemical Landmark distinction
The Swiss Academy of Sciences has honoured the water research institute in Dübendorf as a significant historic site for chemistry. Eawag, the Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology, revolutionised chemistry under its director, Werner Stumm, through its launching of environmental chemistry. It has contributed significantly to a better understanding of complex processes in nature and to clean bodies of water in Switzerland.

2024 IUPAC-Solvay International Award for Young Chemists – Call for Nominations
The IUPAC-Solvay International Award for Young Chemists is intended to encourage outstanding young research scientists at the beginning of their careers. The awards are given for the most outstanding Ph.D. theses in the general area of the chemical sciences, as described in a short essay. The award is generously sponsored by Solvay.
Professor Xile Hu wins the 2023 IUPAC-Zhejiang NHU International Award for Advancements in Green Chemistry
The 2023 IUPAC-Zhejiang NHU International Award for Advancements in Green Chemistry was announced and presented during the 49th IUPAC World Chemistry Congress in The Hague, The Netherlands. Professor Xile Hu from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Switzerland won the experienced chemist award, while Dr. Mirabbos Hojamberdiev from Technical University Berlin, Dr. Jiayu Peng from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Dr. Zhe Zhuang, from Stanford University, respectively, received the young award.
